CHENIES VILLAGE
ACT NOW !
TAKE 5 MINUTES TO WATCH THIS EXCELLENT VIDEO TO UNDERSTAND THE DRAMATIC IMPACT IT WILL HAVE ON OUR LOCAL AREA
URGENT: THIS AFFECTS YOU - LOCAL PLAN CONSULTATION Following the Parish Council’s note and response to the consultation circulated on 4th March (CVS email 556) I’d like to add my personal contribution.
I have only had the weekend to take this in and was not aware of it beforehand. I imagine many villagers are in the same position. This is important because the Local Plan will determine where development happens for the next 20 years.
ACT NOW IF YOU WANT TO PROTECT THE PLACE IN WHICH YOU LIVE
If you value the village and the beautiful Conservation Areas, Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and The Green Belt in which we live you should make your views know urgently. The timescale for comment ends at 5 pm on Monday 14 March, a week away. You should be in no doubt that this will have a fundamental effect on Chenies as well as the surrounding areas. You may or may not agree with the proposals. However can I urge villagers to make sure they have at least registered their views.
Here are some useful documents and links:
1. Here is an excellent Youtube video which clearly explains the proposals and is very helpful in understanding their likely impact:

3. SAVE OUR GREEN BELT - Little Chalfont Community Association and Little Chalfont Parish – see below
4. MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PLANS: LITTLE CHALFONT, CHENIES AND LATIMER – produced I believe by a Chalfont resident – see below Chiltern Council – Local Plan Consultation for the official request for responses to the consultation.
This includes an on-line form and can be found at: Questions 8 and 17 are said to be the ones of primary importance.Or email: Chiltern District Council at: planningpolicy@chiltern.gov.uk or write to: The Planning Policy Team, Chiltern District Council, King George V House, King George V Road, Amersham, Bucks, HP6 5AW
In any response can I suggest you should:
-
State whether you believe that Chiltern District Council should protect existing Green Belt or try to declassify it. ]
-
Comment on whether Chiltern District Council should protect existing AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty)
-
Give your views on whether Chiltern District Council should seek to protect any effects on the Conservation areas.
-
Comment on the effects on healthcare, education, traffic, transport, sports and recreation, social care, water and waste water and waste management.
-
Responses are not limited to one per household, everyone can comment.
The more individual responses the better.
Each MUST include the name and address of the sender to be valid. In both cases head the document ‘Chiltern and South Bucks Local Plan Initial Consultation.’
I am not anti development. However the proposed scale of development is inappropriate in our unique and precious local environment. It poses a grave threat to The Chess Valley. Make sure your views are heard..
